Usually, the general examination for 12th class students starts in March. This will be followed by the Class 10 general examination and the year-end examination for other classes in Tamil Nadu. In the current academic year, the general examinations and final examinations are scheduled to be held till the end of May due to the late start of live classes in schools due to corona infection.
Accordingly, the general examination for Class 12 will begin on May 5 and end on May 28. The general examination for Class 11 will be held from May 9 to 31 and for Class 10 from May 6 to May 30. Apart from this, the final examination for 6th to 9th class students is scheduled to be held from 5th to 13th May.
Meanwhile, May 13 has been declared as the last working day for students from Class 1 to Class 5. In this case, the Department of School Education has announced that all classes for the next academic year (2022 – 2023) will begin on June 13.

Accordingly, students from Class 1 to Class 9 are given summer vacation from May 13th to June 12th. It has been informed that the first classes will be held on the 24th only for the 11th class students. Thus, the school summer vacation period this year has been greatly reduced.
