School Summer Holiday don’t extend in Karnataka: KAMS writes to CM Bommai

KAMS have requested in the letter not to extend the summer vacation period. The Department of Education is contemplating postponing the school start date, which is set for May 16, if temperatures continue to rise. The Department of Public Education is contemplating postponing the holiday for the sake of children’s health.

But the director of KAMS has written to CM not to postpone the holiday period. Private schools should not, for whatever reason, extend the due date. KAMS secretary Shashikumar has written to the Chief Minister and the Education Minister to stress the educational reform of children.

Academic activities from pre-primary to high school have been minimal learning since the 2019-20 current year. This would be a psychological, physical and educational injustice to the students of our state. The Government and the Department of Education realized this and reopened the school on May 16, and set out to improve education.

The Education Department has decided to open the school on May 16 instead of June. But now rising temperature is giving tension to start school. The Department of Education is seriously considering extend the summer holidays and postponing school reopen date.
