Students’ shoulders are bending due to the weight of these school bags. If you see them at that time, it feels like someone is carrying the weight of the world. The Government of India has made a policy to decide the weight of students’ bags for the classes they attend.

According to the National School Bag Policy, children studying in pre-primary level weighing 10 to 16 kg are not required to carry a school bag with them. Class I and II students weighing 16 to 22 kg are advised to carry a bag of maximum weight of 1.6 to 2.2 kg.

6th, 7th and 8th class children weighing 20 to 30 kg should carry a maximum bag of 2 to 3 kg to school. But if their weight is 25 to 40 kg, they can carry a 2.5 to 4 kg bag to school. Children studying in class 9 to 12 can carry a bag weighing 2.5 kg to 5 kg.

If you are studying in class 9 or 10, your bag should weight only 2.5 kg to 4 kg to 5 kg. If you are studying in class 11 and 12 your school bag should weigh 3.5 to 5 kg. The National School Bag Policy is applicable in many states of the country including the national capital Delhi. Last year, the Directorate of Education in Delhi issued a circular to all schools in the capital to implement the policy.

Also all the schools in Delhi should implement the syllabus prescribed by SCERT, NCERT and CBSE in their schools. Delhi Directorate of Education said. This new rule will help many students. The rule that children should carry heavy bags according to their weight to school will come into force.
