A circular has been issued by the Association of Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions in this regard. Religious festivals cannot be celebrated in schools and colleges.

Only the scheduled national festival, State festivals should be celebrated in schools and colleges. Apart from that, the state government has ordered that no other religious festivals can be celebrated.

This circular was issued by Karnataka Residential Education Association on the instructions of Karnataka Social Welfare Minister HC. Mahadevappa. In that circular only 10 approved national festivals should be celebrated in schools and colleges. It is advised not to celebrate religious festivals.

If religious festivals are celebrated in schools and colleges in violation of this order, legal action will be taken against the principals and staff. Similarly, it is stated in the circular order that various religious festivals including Christmas, Eid Milad, Sankranti, Ugadi, Ramzan cannot be celebrated in schools and colleges.

Summer Vacation 2024: Government Gives Good News To School Children’s

Karnataka is facing a drought situation in 2023-24 due to lack of rain in the monsoon season. The government has already announced drought-affected taluks. In drought-prone taluks, mid-day meals are provided to government school children even during summer vacations.

Sindhu B. Rupesh, Director of PM Poshan, School Education Department, Bangalore has given information through a memorandum. He instructed that preparations should be made to provide midday meals to the children.

In the background of the factors described in the Karnataka government’s proposal, 223 taluks of 236 taluks of 31 districts of the state are affected by drought in the monsoon season of 2023 as per the report of the crop damage survey by the district commissioners as per the criteria in the central government’s drought management manual 2020 drought declaration guidelines. The government has announced the taluks and said it will come into effect with immediate effect.
