Kalaburagi: Schools and colleges holiday tomorrow due to heavy rains

Schools and colleges have been declared holiday in the district on Saturday July 9 due to heavy rain forecast in Kalaburagi district. District Collector Yashwant Gurukar has issued an official order in this regard. Government officials have advised not to leave the central post until further orders. It is raining heavily across the state. Kalaburagi district is also experiencing cloudy weather from Wednesday. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert warning of heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday. Due to this, District Collector Yashwant Gurukar has declared a holiday for schools on Saturday.

Apart from this, the officials have instructed not to leave the central location. All the taluks of the rural part of Kalaburagi district are receiving good rains. The district administration has taken this action as directed by the Chief Minister in the wake of the announcement of yellow alert across the district by the Indian Meteorological Department on Saturday and Sunday.

Even though the rainy season has started, the monsoon has not spread throughout the district. However, it has been raining continuously since Wednesday evening. Heavy rain started at 4 pm on Friday and continued for a couple of hours. Good rains in all taluks of the rural areas have brought peace to the farmers.

People were literally panicked by the evening rain in the city. Students and parents suffered for some time due to the heavy rain that started in the evening when the school and college closing.
