Cyclone Yaas to land fall in this district: IMD warns very severe cyclonic storm

Bhadrak: Cyclone Yaas has intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm’ and is all set to make landfall near Dhamra Port in Bhadrak district today. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday, “It is very likely to cross north Odisha-West Bengal coasts between Paradip and Sagar Island close to north of Dhamra and south of Balasore, during noon of Wednesday, the 26th May as a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm. “

Lakhs of people in West Bengal and Odisha were evacuated from vulnerable areas and shifted to safe shelters. By Tuesday night, more than 3 lakh people were taken to safety in Odisha.
