LPG Booking fake news circulating in Social media: Govt officially denied the rumors
The government has confirmed that no such revisions (like the 35-day or 45-day splits for PMUY/non-PMUY) have been made.
LPG Booking fake news: The current geopolitical situation has certainly created some ripples in energy supplies. As of March 25, 2026, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has officially denied the rumors regarding a 35-day extension for everyone.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG) issued a formal clarification today, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, explicitly debunking those specific numbers as misinformation.
The government has confirmed that no such revisions (like the 35-day or 45-day splits for PMUY/non-PMUY) have been made. They have urged citizens to ignore these viral social media claims, which were likely triggered by localized panic or technical glitches in automated systems.

The Actual Standing Rules:
The existing norms remain unchanged and are uniform across all connection types (PMUY or non-PMUY):
Urban Areas: The minimum gap between two refill bookings remains 25 days.
Rural Areas: The minimum gap remains 45 days.
The Ministry stated that refineries are operating at high capacity and Indian Navy-escorted tankers (like the Nanda Devi and Shivalik) have already arrived or are en route with fresh LPG stocks, so there is no cause for panic booking.
