Xiaomi has expanded its wearable lineup in China with the launch of the Watch S5 41mm and Smart Band 11. Both devices were introduced alongside the companys latest smartphone products and are now available to customers in the Chinese market.

The two wearables target different users. The Watch S5 41mm takes the form of a smartwatch with GPS support and a larger set of sensors, while the Smart Band 11 follows the lighter fitness band design and focuses on everyday activity and health tracking.

The Xiaomi Smart Band 11 is the more affordable option of the two. Its standard version is priced at 299 yuan, which is approximately Rs 4270 based on the supplied conversion. The NFC version costs 349 yuan, or around Rs 4990.

Xiaomi is offering the Smart Band 11 with several frame and strap combinations. Frame colours include silver, black, pink gold and dawn gold. Strap choices include lime green silk knitted, lavender purple genuine leather braided and porcelain white fluoroelastomer magnetic options.

The Xiaomi Watch S5 41mm starts at 1299 yuan for the fluororubber strap version. This works out to approximately Rs 18560 based on the supplied conversion. The genuine leather strap model costs 1499 yuan, while the transparent version is priced at 2499 yuan.

Additional straps are also available separately. The mint green fluororubber strap costs 99 yuan, while the lime green genuine leather strap is priced at 199 yuan.

Display quality is one of the main highlights of the Watch S5 41mm. It features a 1.32 inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 466 by 466 pixels. The display can reach 1500 nits of global brightness and up to 3000 nits of peak brightness, which should help improve visibility in bright outdoor conditions.

The Smart Band 11 uses a larger 1.72 inch AMOLED display. It has a resolution of 212 by 520 pixels and reaches up to 2000 nits of peak brightness. The brighter panel is particularly useful for a fitness band that may frequently be used outdoors during walks, runs and other activities.

Battery capacity is another difference between the two products. The Watch S5 41mm packs a 590mAh battery, while the Smart Band 11 has a 233mAh battery. Xiaomi says the band can be fully charged in around 90 minutes.

Both devices are designed to handle water exposure and carry a 5ATM water resistance rating. This gives them added protection during activities where the wearable may come into contact with water, although users should follow the manufacturers stated usage limits.

Health tracking is an important part of the Smart Band 11. It includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, optical heart rate sensor, blood oxygen sensor, ambient light sensor and geomagnetic sensor.

The Watch S5 41mm adds a broader selection of sensors. Along with heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, it includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, geomagnetic sensor, temperature sensor, air pressure sensor and ambient light sensor.

For location tracking, the Watch S5 41mm has built in GPS. It also supports Bluetooth 5.4 for connectivity with compatible smartphones and other devices.

The Smart Band 11 also uses Bluetooth 5.4 and includes NFC on the dedicated NFC edition. The band works with Android 8.0 and newer devices as well as iOS 14.9 and later versions.

Compatibility is similar for the smartwatch. The Watch S5 41mm supports Android 8.0 and above and iOS 14.9 and above. Both wearables can be managed through the Mi Fitness application.

The physical design of the Watch S5 41mm varies according to the edition. The regular versions have a compact form factor, while the transparent edition has different dimensions. The listed weights range from around 36 grams to 42 grams depending on the version and strap configuration.

Fitness tracking is another major part of the new wearables. Xiaomi is positioning the products for users who want to monitor daily movement, exercise and health related information through a wearable device. The range of supported sports activities is designed to cover different forms of exercise and outdoor activity.

The Smart Band 11 is particularly suited to users who want a lightweight device for routine health and activity tracking without moving to a full smartwatch. Its AMOLED display, sensor package, water resistance and NFC option give it a broad set of everyday features.

The Watch S5 41mm, meanwhile, offers a more complete smartwatch experience with GPS, a larger battery and additional sensors. Its high brightness AMOLED screen also gives it a clear advantage for outdoor visibility.

Both products are currently available to order in China. Xiaomi has not provided details about their launch plans for India in the supplied information, so local pricing and availability remain unknown.

With the Watch S5 41mm and Smart Band 11, Xiaomi has added two different wearable options to its Chinese portfolio. The smartwatch focuses more heavily on connected features and health monitoring, while the band provides a simpler and more affordable approach to fitness tracking.
