The Government of India has now made it mandatory to link the PAN (Permanent Account Number) card with the Aadhaar card for all income tax return filers in India. The Pan Aadhaar Link deadline card and the Aadhaar card has been extended to June 30, 2023. In a notification on Tuesday, the Finance Ministry said that from July 1, 2023, all unlinked PAN cards shall become inoperative.

Visit Income Tax e-filing portal “https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/”.
Register yourself on the website by entering your PAN card number, which will be your user ID.
Log in by entering your User ID, Password and Date of Birth. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one.
A pop-up window will appear asking you to link your PAN with Aadhaar.
If you don’t see any pop-up, go to “Profile Settings” in the menu bar and click on the link Aadhaar.
Details like name date of birth and gender will already be mentioned as per your PAN details.

Now, you need to check the PAN details entered in your Aadhaar on the screen.
Note that in case of mismatch, you should get the same correction in any documents.
If the details match, enter your Aadhaar number and click on the “Link Now” button.
A pop-up message will inform you that your Aadhaar has been successfully linked to your PAN.
