How to Fix Poor 5G Connection in Jio:

Check your active recharge plan

Check signal strength/network coverage

Most of the time, network issues may arise due to low signal strength or weak network coverage. Although the status bar shows full signal, you can check the exact signal strength status by going to settings on your Android phone.

Step 1: Open the Settings app

Step 2: Now scroll down and select ‘About Phone’

Step 3: From here, select ‘SIM Status’

Step 4: Now check the ‘Signal Strength’ value

Anything between -50 dBm to -70 dBm is considered excellent while a signal strength between -71 dBm to -90 dBm is considered good. Over these values, the signal is averaged. Although the signal icon in the status bar displays network strength, it’s a good way to know exactly what strength you’re getting in numbers.

Restart your phone

Sometimes, a simple restart allows the phone to connect to stronger and nearby networks because everything is booted from scratch. It makes your device run faster until the memory starts filling up after you start opening and loading apps.

Step 2: Now tap on the ‘Internet’ menu or ‘Mobile Networks’ depending on the option on your Android phone. On stock Android phones, you may need to press the ‘gear’ icon

Step 3: From here, scroll down and select the ‘Access Point Names’ section.

Step 4: Now tap on the three dots at the top right corner and select ‘Reset to default’

After this process, Jio will automatically load the updated network settings to your SIM, thus solving internet connectivity issues.

Contact customer care

If network issues persist on Jio, you should contact customer support and highlight your grievances. You may need to provide details of the exact location where you are experiencing issues. How to Fix Poor 5G Connection in Jio

Disable Smart 5G settings

Smart 5G is a function that automatically switches between 5G and 4G to conserve battery usage. However, if you want the best possible 5G speeds, it’s best to disable this feature so that your device only attaches to the 5G network. But if the 5G connection is weak, disabling this won’t have much effect.

Switch between NSA and SA modes in 5G

As jio works on Standalone Architecture (SA), make sure your phone is set to SA instead of NSA (Non-Standalone) to avail the best 5G internet speed. Depending on the make and model of your device, the settings for this can be found under ‘Mobile Networks’.
