Completed 10 years of Aadhaar card, to get the benefits of government schemes, updating Aadhaar card has been made mandatory by Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

Government made mandatory to update Aadhaar Card because UIDAI has advised those who have Aadhaar card for ten (10) years to update the address and their identity details mentioned at the time of registration, otherwise they will not be able to avail the benefits under the government schemes in the future.

Citizens having Aadhaar card above 10 years in the state, even if they are still at the address mentioned during Aadhaar registration, as such Aadhaar cards are becoming inactive, those who have Aadhaar card above 11 years and those who have not renewed their Aadhaar card till now, their personal identity document and Aadhaar Enrollment Center along with Proof of Address will be allowed to update in the new unique Enrollment Update Software developed by UIDAI.

Last Date for Free Renewal:

March 14, 2024 is the last day for public to renew Aadhaar card free of charge as per the information mentioned in the official website of Aadhaar Card Authority.

Documents need to be submitted to update Aadhaar:

1) Ration cards or voter identity cards,

2) Government issued identity cards / address proofs and Indian passports serve as proof of both identity and address.

3) PAN Card, Driving License, Secondary or Senior Secondary School Mark Sheet / School Leaving Certificate with photograph, Government issued Identity Card / Certificate – will serve as proof of identity only. Electricity / Water / Gas Bill (Last 3 Months), Bank / Post Office Passbook, Rent / Lease / Leave and License Agreement will serve as proof of address only.

You can update your Aadhaar card by uploading any 2 of the above documents online.

Public can visit the official website of Aadhaar Authority (UIDAI) and renew Aadhaar card on their mobile by following the procedure mentioned below.

Step-1: First, click on this Aadhar update link and visit the official website of Aadhaar Authority (UIDAI) and then enter applicant’s Aadhaar card number and captcha code and click on “Login with OTP” button. After this, enter the OTP sent to your mobile and click on the “Login” button.

Step-2: After clicking on the “Next” button that comes twice, it will show your name, date of birth, and address details. Are these details correct? Check that and click on the button showing “I verify that the above details are correct” and click on “Next” button again.

Step-3: After this, upload the PDF file of Pan card and Voter ID for your name and address verification on this page and finally click on “Next” button and click on “Submit” button, your Aadhaar card will update.
