Chennai Metro Rail Corporation (CMRL) has awarded a contract to conduct a feasibility study for the construction of a 20 km metro rail line between Hosur in Tamil Nadu and Bommasandra in Karnataka.
Balaji Railroad Systems and Habog Consultants will jointly conduct a survey on the proposed inter-state metro rail project and submit a report in 4 months. For this, the Chennai Metro Rail Corporation has entered into an agreement with these companies. The 20 km long metro line connecting Hosur and Bommasandra will pass through 8 km in Tamil Nadu and 12 km in Karnataka.

It is learned that a survey has been conducted on other matters including the estimated cost of the work and a feasibility study report has been given. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation operates inter-state metro rail services. It connects national capital Delhi to Haryana and Noida in Uttar Pradesh. There are a total of 10 colored railway lines, covering a total length of 350.42 km.

It is learned that National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has awarded the contract for General Alignment Drawings, Surveying, Overhead, Overground, Underground Utility and Substation Power Sourcing Identity.
Targeted 435 km long Chennai-Bangalore-Mysore high speed train (bullet train) will stop at 9 stations including Chennai, Poonamallee, Arakkonam (Tamil Nadu), Chittoor (Andhra Pradesh), Bangarapet, Bangalore, Channapatna, Mandya and Mysore. It is said that this high-speed train will cover the distance between Chennai and Mysore in just 2 hours and 25 minutes.
