But, as there is no T20I series for Team India before this mega tournament, the 16th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) will be significant.
Now, important information about the world’s number one T20 league has come out and it has been reported that the date has been confirmed. According to a report by Cricbuzz, IPL 2024 will start on March 22. It will last for about two months. The final match is scheduled on May 26. It is said that the schedule will be officially announced after the Lok Sabha election date is announced.

Twice before IPL was held during Lok Sabha elections. While IPL 2009 was held entirely outside India in South Africa, some matches of the 2014 edition were held in the UAE. However, the Cricbuzz report said that the BCCI is confident of holding the entire tournament in India this time.
The BCCI has received assurances from all other cricket boards that their players will be available for the entire IPL, the report said. However, with the T20 World Cup 2024 approaching, it will not be surprising if some players are unavailable for the full tournament. Meanwhile, the second season of the Women’s Premier League is also likely to start on February 22 and it ends on March 17.
