The announcement came as a shock to CSK fans as the IPL franchise has won five IPL titles under Dhoni’s leadership and earned him the title of ‘Thalaiva’ (for Tamil captain).

Born in 1997, Ruthuraj Gaikwad made his debut in the IPL format in 2020 and quickly made a strong impact. He was retained by CSK for 6 crores in the 2022 edition.

According to reports, Indian cricket legend MS Dhoni is likely to announce his retirement after the 17th edition of IPL. MS Dhoni officially announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020.
