Lok Sabha Elections 2024: BJP Candidate 1st list, Party target to win 370 seats

In the meeting, decisions were taken regarding over 155 posts, the details of which are expected to be released in the next couple of days. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced the slogan 'Crossing 400' for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting was held at the party headquarters in Delhi on Thursday. The meeting discussed about the Lok Sabha poll seats of around 17 states.

In the meeting, decisions were taken regarding over 155 posts, the details of which are expected to be released in the next couple of days. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has introduced the slogan ‘Crossing 400’ for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024. BJP’s target is to win more than 370 seats independently.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, General Secretary BL Santosh, along with Chief Ministers, State Presidents, In-charges, Co-in-charges and Election In-charges of various states were present in the meeting.

Chief Ministers from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Assam, Uttarakhand and Goa attended the meeting. Additionally, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, BJP leader Prahlad Patel and BJP state president VD Sharma participated in the debate.

Notably, discussions were held regarding the selection of candidates for all the 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh. Names of 4 to 5 candidates from Telangana may be announced soon. Also, some report says that three sitting MPs G Kishan Reddy, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and Arvind Dharmapuri may get tickets again.

In a meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, discussions were held regarding the selection of candidates. Besides, the names of candidates were discussed with BJP leaders from Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Gujarat, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand.

In the meeting, candidates for Jammu seats were also discussed, while Kashmir will be discussed in the next meeting. Further, talks are focused on two to three seats in Delhi during the meeting, with plans for more discussions in later rounds.
