DK Shivakumar: Supreme Court gave big relief to Karnataka DCM

Karnataka DCM DK Sivakumar had filed an application seeking a restraining order on the investigation against him. The High Court, which heard the petition, issued a restraining order. DK Shivakumar: Supreme Court gave big relief to Karnataka DCM.

The CBI approached the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order. A petition was filed to vacate the restraining order issued by the High Court. The Supreme Court heard the petition and said that the High Court order cannot be interfered with. DK Sivakumar got relief by this.

The CBI is investigating the income and disproportionate assets from 2013 to 2018. D.K. Shivakumar is facing charges of illegal wealth acquisition and unauthorized money transfer. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is facing an inquiry in this regard since September 2019.

In October 2020, the CBI registered a case against DK Shivakumar in connection with the disproportionate assets case. The CBI had alleged that DK Shivakumar and his family had illegally acquired assets worth Rs 74.93 crore. CBI, IT and ED have raided DK Shivakumar’s residence and properties owned by him.
