Here is people’s answer to the question of who is the right leader to succeed Narendra Modi. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already announced Prime Minister Narendra Modi as its Prime Ministerial candidate for the Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, PM Modi has claimed his third term on several occasions.

Prime Minister Modi’s name and charisma worked in BJP’s favor in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections. It will continue in 2024 as well. Polls show that voters want to elect Modi for a third consecutive term. It is interesting to know whether the 73-year-old Modi will continue in the post for the full term or will leave the post before that.
The BJP has adopted a rule that leaders above 75 years of age should not be given high posts or ministerial posts. For this reason many senior leaders were not even given tickets. It remains to be seen whether this will apply to Prime Minister Modi as well or whether he will be exempted.

If Modi steps down before the completion of this term or if the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate changes during the next election, the polls have given different options to the question of who would be the best candidate.
According to the survey, majority of people chose the current Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Next is Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s name is also in the running.
