New Year 2024 School holiday list announced: Check complete list

New Year 2024: As the New Year’s calendar is brought home, most people’s eyes go first- on how many holidays there are this year. Let’s know here how many working days and holidays are available for employees of different departments in 2024.

School Holidays: 52 Sundays, 21 general holidays, 15 occasional holidays and 2 limited holidays, 5 local holidays totaling 95 holidays and 271 working days.

Bank Employees Holidays: 2024 is a leap year so there are 366 days. There are a total of 109 holidays including 52 Sundays, 24 second and fourth Saturdays, 21 public holidays, 12 personal holidays for employees. Working days are only 257. 13, 14 and 15 three days hat trick leave available to bank employees in January.

Although there are 29 days in February, there is no public holiday. 8, 9, 10 dates in March are another hat-trick holiday series for bank employees. If March 29 is a Good Friday holiday and Holy Saturday is a limited holiday on March 30, employees can get 3 days off including Sunday 31.

Ugadi on 9th of April and Ramzan on 11th. In between these, 10th and 12th are given casual leave, 13th 2nd Saturday including 5 days long leave. 14th and 21st Sundays are Ambedkar Jayanti and Mahavira Jayanti respectively so 2 holidays are less and 2 working days are more. In June, if Muslim employees take 1 casual leave on 17th, they can take three days off on 16th, 17th and 18th.

In September, limited leave is given for Swarnagouri Vrat on 6th while Ganesha Chaturthi holiday is on 7th and the holiday continues till 8th Sunday, so women employees can celebrate 3 days festival. Bank employees will get another hat trick holiday on 14th, 15th and 16th.

There are 11, 12 and 13 serial holidays in October. The second Saturday of the 12th is the general holiday of Vijayadashami. October 31 is Naraka Chaturdashi, November 1 Rajyotsava, 2nd Balipadyami, 3rd Sunday is holiday.

Ambedkar Jayanti (14.4.2024) and Mahavira Jayanti (21.04.2024) are Sundays and Saura Vijaya Dashami (12.10.2024) is not included in the holiday list as it falls on 2nd Saturday. Since 1.4.2024 is the annual closing day of banks and government banks, only commercial and government banks will have a holiday on that day.
