Haveri: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday asserted that his government has honoured its commitments and delivered on its assurances as it completed 1,000 days in office.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the ‘Bhoo Guarantee Samarpana Samavesha’ held near Ajjayya Temple on the outskirts of Haveri town, the Chief Minister said the Congress government has functioned in line with the promises it made to the people of Karnataka.

“Our government has completed 1,000 days and we have acted as we had promised. We are committed to fulfilling all the assurances given to the people,” Siddaramaiah said.

He emphasised that the administration’s welfare initiatives are aimed at empowering marginalised sections of society. “Our programmes focus on the welfare and empowerment of Dalits, women, backward classes and farmers. We will continue to implement these schemes without interruption,” he added.

The event was organised to commemorate the milestone and highlight the government’s key initiatives, particularly those linked to land guarantees and welfare measures.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka criticised the celebration, describing the Congress government’s tenure as “dark days” and questioning the achievements being showcased.

Responding to the BJP’s criticism, Siddaramaiah hit back, alleging that the opposition was frustrated. “They did nothing in the last four years when they were in power. That is why they are criticising us,” he said.

The Chief Minister stated that out of 592 promises made by the Congress, 240 have already been fulfilled and the remaining commitments will also be implemented in due course. “All the allegations against our government are false. We are steadily delivering on our guarantees,” he maintained.

On repeated questions regarding leadership issues within the party, Siddaramaiah reiterated that he would abide by the decisions of the Congress high command. “There is no need to repeat the same question. We are bound by the directions of the high command, and all party leaders must adhere to them,” he said.
