Karnataka Heavy Rain: School college holiday in these 10 districts

Heavy rains continue to lash parts of entire Karnataka and they are likely to continue for next 24 hours. The Indian Meteorological Department has extended the orange alert in the coastal region of the state till today and warned about the chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall. Heavy rain is likely to occur in many parts of the state in the next 24 hours, and holidays have been announced for Anganwadi, schools and pre university colleges in various districts. The Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state today and tomorrow

Meanwhile, due to continuous rain, many rivers are overflowing and bridges are flooded. Due to the heavy rains in various parts of the state, holidays have been given to schools in various districts as a precautionary measure.

Holiday declaration for schools and colleges in these districts:

Shivamogga District:

In the background of heavy rains in Shivamogga district, in the interest of the safety of school children, on the instruction of the District Collector holiday has been declared for all government, aided and unaided primary and high schools in Shivamogga district today on July 24th.

Uttara Kannada District:

Holidays have been given to schools and colleges in Uttara Kannada district. Holiday has been given to Anganwadi, Primary, High School, and Undergraduate Colleges.

Belagavi District:

A holiday has been announced today for schools and colleges in Khanapura, Kittur, Belagavi city and rural taluks of Belagavi district. Belagavi District Collector Nitesh Patil has issued an order to grant leave today due to heavy rains in Belagavi district. In view of the possibility of increased rain, three taluk schools have been given a holiday today for the safety of the children.

Hassan District:

In the wake of heavy rains in Hassan district, a holiday has been announced today for schools across Sakaleshpur, Alur, Belur, Arakalagudu and Hassan taluks. Holiday has been given to primary, high school, anganwadis of 5 taluks. Hassan District Collector Satyabhama issued an order on leave today.

Kodagu District:

In Kodagu district also today a holiday has been given to schools. Kodagu District Collector Venkataraja has issued an order today due to heavy rains.

Haveri District:

Due to continued heavy rains across Haveri district, holiday has been announced for all Anganwadi, Primary, High School and PUC Colleges in the district today. District Collector Raghunandana Murthy, who issued an order in this regard, indicated that the degree and ITI colleges will continue as usual.

Udupi District:

In the backdrop of heavy rains in Udupi district, holiday has been declared for schools, PUC colleges of entire district today.

Dharwad District:

District Collector Gurudatta Hegde has issued an order declaring July 24 as a holiday for primary and high schools in the district due to continuous rains in Dharwad district.

Davangere District:

As the rain continued in Davangere district as well, District Collector Shivananda Kapashi has issued an order declaring holidays for schools in Channagiri, Honnali and Nyamati taluks.

Chikmagaluru District:

It is raining heavily in Chikkamagaluru district and in Koppa taluk it is also raining non-stop. As a precautionary measure, a holiday has been announced for schools and colleges in Koppa Taluk today.
