The use of mobile phones is increasing day by day in schools and colleges, which is deteriorating the educational environment in schools and colleges, not only is it having a bad effect on the children, but the valuable learning time is being spent on mobile chats, the department has come to the notice of the department.

Also, students use mobile phones to listen to music, play games and send messages in the classroom, which creates an unpleasant atmosphere in the classroom and causes difficulty in educational activities. Along with this, the fact that many parents have also expressed concern in many cases, the general opinion that the use of mobile phones should be banned as a measure to protect children’s learning time will be expressed in this meeting.

In view of the factors outlined in the proposal, with immediate effect applicable to the students of all government, aided and unaided schools and colleges of the state from class 1 to 12 (class 1 to 10 and PUC 1nd & 2nd), using mobile during school term, schools and colleges premises is prohibited.

Along with this, teachers, lecturers and any staff members of schools and colleges are also prohibited from using mobile phones in school and college premises during the school term. If students, teachers-lecturers and staff use mobile phones in school premises in violation of the ban, such mobile phones should be confiscated. An Implementation Committee has been constituted to implement this Prohibition and their responsibilities/powers have been prescribed.
