Kannada Movie ‘Pogaru’ has sparked a new controversy. Karnataka Brahmin Development board has raised objections over few scenes in the movie that allegedly hurt the sentiments of the community.
”We condemn the derogatory marks made against the Brahmin community in the movie ‘Pogaru’. I urge the film team to take out sequences at the earliest. If the film team fails to delete the scenes, we will file a plea before KFCC. If no action taken, we will launch a state wide protest” said Karnataka Brahmin Development Board President HS Sachidananda Murthy.
Reacting to the controversy Director Nanda Kishore, ”We have no intention to hurt anyone. I apologize for the sequences which have hurt Brahmins. We will soon delete the scenes”.
Kannada Movie ‘Pogaru’ is the first big release post Covid-19 pandemic. ‘Pogaru’ features Dhruva Sarja, Rashmika Mandanna, Dhananjay in prominent roles. The film is directed by Nanda Kishore.
